A square resistance allows a thermal dissipation with good stability within a high temperature and electrical tolerance. That is why this electrical resistance is ideal for a maximum temperature at a rated power of 375º, since it has a support of non-conductive material with a resistive cable (whose resistivity varies depending on the power and resistance requested).
At ECOMSA we seek for square resistors with the ability to withstand high currents with suitable stability in power circuits such as voltage dividers power attenuators and filters, and their tolerance can be guaranteed due to the construction process, the temperature and the life span of the product. For example, the Square Resistor Wirewound 13×100 CH/F 3K3 10% 30W, which has fiberglass element used as a support of the resistive wire, and a ceramic box with a high degree of thermal dissipation.
We design each wire-wound resistor according to the customers’ taste and needs. That is why the operating temperature will depend on the specifications of the given dimensions and technology. Consequently, we recommend ponderating the ambient temperature, the available space and its disposition in diameter/length ratio.
